Coronation Street to launch Rover’s Return Brand

ITV have announced that they are considering creating their famous on set pub ‘The Rovers Return’ as a high street pub chain.

Fans of the ITV show could enjoy drinking their ‘usual’ in one of the most iconic pubs right in their high street. ITC are aiming at exploiting the popular TV brand by launching themed lookalike venues.

Coronation Street could also become a sponsorship vehicle if a business partner owned its own brewery, and they could even be allowed to promote their beer, according to The Times. This would mean im assuming that instead of asking for ‘the usual’ or a ‘pint’ they’ll be asking for a well known brand like ‘John Smiths Please!’

It’s a crazy idea, but i believe it will work. When launching the pub brand as a new company consumers will already know of the brand and be familiar with the show. ITV will aslo earn addional revenue from their long running TV show. We love it! Could The Queen Vic be next?

So who fancies a swift one in the Rover’s?

Netscape Discontinued

Netscape Logo

Netscape one of the first browsers on the web is now set to disappear.

Netscape Navigator, now owned by AOL, will no longer be supported after 1 March 2008, the company has said. In the mid-1990s, as the commercial web began to take off, the browser was used by more than 90% of people online.

Its market share has since slipped to just 0.6% as other browsers such as Microsoft’s Internet Explorer (IE) and Firefox have eroded its user base.  Impact Media Design test all future sites in various browsers across the platform. From here on we will start to phase out our testing with the browser to concentrate on current and future browsers such as “flock” which are becoming web 2.0 based and are still originally built using some of the underlying technologies of navigator.
